- Water robbery twice as much as in the union state: Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy
Hyderabad, December 21 (Andhra Jyoti):Agitating on irrigation projects is not... BRS chief KCR has demanded that Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy apologize to the people of Telangana for the mistakes made in the past. He accused KCR of corruption and corruption of the irrigation department. Of the 811 TMC Krishna waters allotted to AP by the Bachawat Tribunal, Telangana should get 299 TMC and AP should get 512 TMC or not? KCR was asked to say. Speaking to the media at the secretariat on Sunday, he said, 'Has 90 percent of the work on the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy project been completed...? After spending Rs. 27 thousand crores for that project, you revised the estimates to Rs. 50 thousand crores. How about 90 percent complete? When we came to power, we spent Rs. 7 thousand crores for this project. The Center sent back the DPR of this project in 2023 when the BRS was in power. Who was the CM and Irrigation Minister at that time? We are asking the tribunal to provide water not less than 90 TMC for this lift scheme. They are not in the habit of cheating like you. If you write that 299 TMC of Krishna water is enough for Telangana, they said in the tribunal that they are fighting to give more than 500 TMC. He was accused of betraying Telangana by colluding with the then AP CM YS Jagan and indirectly helping the Rayalaseema uplift project. He said that between 2004-14, AP diverted 727 TMC of water from Srisailam illegally, and between 2014-23, 1,442 TMC was diverted. They said that KCR 90 lied about Krishna projects. KCR's decisions were blamed for the non-completion of the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy project. He warned that if he slips his mouth, they will also slip their mouths even more. He made it clear that the irrigation department was neglected in ten years of KCR's rule and not in two years of Congress rule. He criticized the expenditure of Rs.1.81 lakh crores for the Kaleshwaram project and the benefit to the farmers and the people. They said that if they put Rs.1 lakh crores in Kaleswaram, not even one lakh acres of new Ayakattu has been obtained. He said that if Rs 1,550 crore was spent on the works of Rajiv Dummugudem and Indira Sagar projects, 4 lakh acres of new ayakattu would be available. Instead of those projects, Sitarama took up the lifting scheme... and it was alleged that Rs. 18 thousand crores were spent. They demanded an answer to the people of Mahabubnagar district as to why the pending projects of Kalvakurti, Nettempadu and Bima were not completed, and to the people of Nalgonda district as to why SLBC and Dindi were not completed. Uttam urged KCR to prepare well when coming before the media. He said that the maximum rice crop was harvested in the state only after Congress came to power.
