
Resolution of 22,710 cases
Palamuru:District Court Chief Justice N. Premalatha said that if there is a compromise in the Lok Adalat, there will be a permanent solution and the parties should take advantage of such opportunities. He said that besides saving time for both parties, they are getting a peaceful life. On the occasion of the National Lok Adalat, the judge spoke in a specially organized meeting in the court premises under the auspices of the District Judicial Service Authority on Sunday.
Four benches in the district main court and two benches in the judges' court were set up and cases were decided under the supervision of one judge in each bench. As a result, a total of 22,710 cases were resolved in six benches till 8 pm. Similarly, in a motor vehicle accident case, the judge gave an award of Rs.66 lakh to one and Rs.22 lakh to the other as compensation. A wheelchair was provided to one disabled person and financial assistance to another. SP D. Janaki, Justices Kalyan Chakraborty, Indira, Radhika, Mamatareddy, Bhavana, Bar Association President Anantha Reddy and others participated in the program.
A total of 1,780 cases related to the police department were resolved in the National Lok Adalat. In this, 197 IPC cases, 499 drunken drive cases and 1059 e-petty cases were compromised. Also, among those who lost less than Rs.25 thousand in cyber crimes, FIRs were filed, but 89 cases were resolved and cash of Rs.4.22 lakhs was deposited in the accounts of the victims. 25 cases of loss of more than Rs.25 thousand and FIRs were settled and Rs.12.74 lakhs were deposited in the victims' accounts.
