Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) in the state have dissolved the governing bodies of chairmen and directors. Also removed the DCCBs of nine districts.

Hyderabad, December 19:Telangana government has taken another important decision. Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS) in the state abolished the governing body of chairmen and directors. Also removed DCCBs of nine districts. The government issued orders to this effect on Thursday. It has been said that these DCCBs have been canceled after the term of the governing bodies has expired.
In this regard, it has been stated in the orders of the Department of Agriculture that person-in-charges should be appointed for the PACS. It said that these in-charges will continue till further orders. The government has explained that the tenure of PACS has ended on August 14 this year.
It is known that the central and state governments have formed Basic Agricultural Cooperative Credit Unions (PACS) for agricultural development and farmer welfare. Governing bodies are appointed through elections to manage these co-operative societies. There will be Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Directors according to the capacities of the societies. Elected governing bodies provide schemes implemented by the government for the development of agriculture and its allied sectors for the welfare of farmers.
Government appoints these governing bodies through elections once in every five years. In February 2020, the KCR government conducted this election. The tenure of those appointed through this election ended in February this year. Their term of office was extended by six months. Recently abolished the ruling classes.
