Mumbai:Results of municipal council and city panchayat elections in Maharashtra are out. While Mahayuti and Vipaksha Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) under the leadership of BJP are contesting in this election, Mahayuti alliance especially BJP is showing unstoppable power. Polling for all 288 local bodies (246 municipal councils, 42 city panchayats) will be held in two phases on December 2 and December 20 and counting will start at 10 am on Sunday.
According to the results released at 3 pm, the Mahayuti alliance secured victory in 118 seats, the Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde in 37 seats and the opposition Mahakutami in 49 seats The Congress is leading in 32 seats.
Analysts predict that the results of this election will have an impact on the elections of 29 municipal corporations, including the BMC, which will be held on January 15.
