- Education in government schools going haywire
- Limited to online uploading works
- Syllabus not progressing.. students struggling
Hyderabad City, December 20 (Andhra Jyoti):Teaching is lagging in government schools of the district. All the teachers who give lessons are limited to online apps. Due to this, students are facing difficulties as classes are not conducted properly on a daily basis. Despite the lack of teachers in the majority of schools, teaching is not progressing due to extra work.
Clerks and assistants shortage
There is a shortage of clerks, junior and senior assistants to do paper and online work in around 378 government schools of the district. Due to the shortage of clerks, the burden of that work has been falling on the teachers of the district for some time. A high school teacher in Nampally mandal lamented that the app is enough for half of the day and there is a huge delay in teaching the children. As the annual exams are approaching, only 75 percent of the 10th class syllabus has been completed so far. Many teachers claim that the government should take alternative measures to avoid putting the burden of app work on teachers, otherwise they have to spend the whole day with cell phones and tablets. Earlier, the attendance of the students was taken by the class teacher and entered in the register. However, in addition to that policy, a few months ago the government also made the Face Recognition System (SRS) app available. With this, every class teacher has to take the attendance of the students along with the tabs and SRS attendance on the cell phone and upload it in the respective app. For this, the class teacher has to work hard for about 45 minutes.
During the SRS, the cell phone signals are low and the photos are not coming properly. They claim that they are not able to teach the children properly due to the same difficulties arising daily. Meanwhile, the existing Unified Information System for Education (UDICE) is being used to know the exact details of how many students are studying in schools along with SRS. Learning Improvement Program (LBP) in high schools, Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) in primary schools and Yudice upload are also struggling.
