Damaged canal under Rayinipally project
Gilla due to heavy rains, many ponds, ponds and irrigation canals were cut off. All the water was wasted. Temporary repairs were made to some of them and water wastage was prevented to some extent. As a result, even though there was plenty of water in some ponds, the canals were destroyed and there was no water in Ayakattu. In some others, unless permanent repairs are made, there will be no water storage in the next monsoon season. Apart from that, the officials of the department say that they are in danger of being cut off.
● About 3 thousand acres of land under the Rayinipalli project of Medak Mandal is there. Within its scope, irrigated water is being supplied to the gram crops of Rayinipally, Pathur, Timmanagar, Maktabhupathipur, Malkapur and Shivwapalli from this project. However, due to the heavy rains last August, the Kattu canal was destroyed in many places. At present, there is no chance of irrigation water for Ayakattu unless it is repaired. Due to this, the farmers recently tried to make temporary repairs but to no avail. As a result, 3,000 acres within the scope of the project have become barren.
● Khazana pond of Avusulapalli in Medak town has been cut off due to heavy flood. Its area is more than 100 acres. At present there is not a drop of water in it. Yasangi cultivation has become impossible. Only if repairs are done now, crops can be harvested in the coming monsoon season.
● There is a 220-acre ayakattu behind the big pond of Havelighanapur. Due to the heavy rains, the embankment of this pond broke to some extent and the authorities responded immediately and made temporary repairs to prevent some wastage of water. In the current Yasangi, half of the ayakattu is likely to be harvested. But officials say that it needs permanent repairs.
● Anantasagar Oorcheruvu Ayakattu is more than 50 acres. Moreover, the rainy season was cut off and all the water was wasted. At present drinking water for cattle is also scarce. If it is repaired immediately, there will be water storage during monsoons. There will be a chance to grow Kharif crops.
