Peddakottapalli/Revalli, December 20 (Andhra Jyoti):The incident in which a policeman died in a road accident took place on Friday night in Peddakottapalli mandal of Nagar Kurnool district. The details given by the police regarding this incident are as follows. Ithapu Anjaneyulu (33), who is working as a constable at the Peddkothappalli police station, left for his hometown Sanaipalli village of Revalli Mandal on Friday night after finishing his duties. Du was seriously injured after being hit by an unknown vehicle on National Highway No. 167 near Vavillabai. Locals noticed it and rushed him to Nagerkurnool Area Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. The police personnel are unable to digest the sudden death of their fellow constable in a road accident. According to the complaint of the deceased's wife Mamata, a case has been registered and investigation is being conducted, said SI V. Satish. Two months ago, Venkataswamy, who was working as a home guard at Pedtakottapally police station, also died in an accident on the same road. The police and locals are expressing their concern over the series of accidents.

Funeral Yatra with official regalia

The police conducted the last yatra of the deceased Constable Anjaneyu with official regalia on Saturday. Pedtakottapally DSP Srinivas participated in the funeral rites held near their house in Sana Yipalli village.
