Chinthapalli, December 20 (Andhra Jyoti): Pedavalasa Forest Department. Local Divisional Forest Officer YV Narasimha Rao said that a special surveillance has been conducted on Siginapalli colored stone quarry within the range. On Saturday, the silos dug in some places in the Siginapalli colored stone quarry were buried by the base camp staff. Speaking to reporters on this occasion, DFO said that two days ago, the people of the surrounding villages had conducted excavations in Siginapalli colored stone quarry with the help of traders. As soon as the information was received, the staff of the forest department was alerted. Cases have been registered under the Forest Act 1967 against 14 traders and laborers who conducted excavations. He said that investigation is being conducted against four more traders and if they are found to have a role in the excavation, cases will be filed. He said that 10 security supervisors including a section officer and a guard have been appointed under the supervision of the range officer to control the excavations at the quarry and 24-hour patrolling is being conducted. Also, the base camp has also been set up at Siginapalli colored stone quarry. Siginapalli quarry is completely banned. Section 144 is being implemented by Gudenkottaveedi Tehsildar in Quarry area. They said that if anyone wanders around the vicinity of the quarry, cases will be filed, and the people of the vicinity of the quarry are being made aware of this matter.
