Wankidi, December 20 (Andhra Jyoti): Students and their parents staged a dharna on Saturday to remove the Special Officer (SO) working in Kasturbagandhi Girls' Vidyalaya in Wankidi mandal center of Kumaram Bhim district. They boycotted the classes on Saturday and took to the streets saying that the SV was harassing them with inappropriate comments. Together with their parents, they staged a dharna in front of the Tehsildar's office. "If we don't want this SV madam.. no.. the collector should come and give us justice," the students shouted. They feel that the SV madam has been abusing them with harsh words for some time and because of this they are not able to concentrate on their studies. The students said in pain that Jyotibaphoole would throw out the picture and slander us with the name of Mali Koolam. They alleged that the S.O. was not only cursing them at will but also doing things with them. They decided to stay in the school if the SV is not removed, they will go home. Sectoral officers Bhagyalakshmi, Abid Ali and ESI Mahem Dar held talks with the students who did not reach the Tehsildar office. The students explained the misbehavior of the SO towards them to the sectoral officials and the SSI. He said that the problems mentioned by the students will be brought to the attention of the higher authorities and action will be taken against the SV. The students stopped their agitation as they said that now SV has gone on leave and everyone has to go to school. Leaders of the student unions supported the agitation by the students. They demanded that action should be taken against the SO. Later, a petition was handed over to the sectoral officials and Deputy Tahsi Ldar to take action against the SO.
