Hyderabad, December 20:The Maoist movement in Telangana is weakening... there are signs that it will end completely soon. So far in 2025, 509 Maoist cadres have surrendered before the police. Among them are 2 central committee members and 11 state committee members.

Latest on December 19, 41 Maoists (most of them from Chhattisgarh) surrendered with weapons in the presence of DGP Shivdhar Reddy. At present there are only 54 Maoists from Telangana.

According to police records only 21 are active. Five of them are members of the Central Committee and 8 are members of the State Committee. Telangana will become a Maoist-free state if all of them surrender.

Madhya Pradesh has already (announced by CM Mohan Yadav on December 11) been recognized as a Maoist-free state. This result was achieved before the objective of Operation Kagar. And, it is reported that the rest of the cadres in Telangana are ready to surrender. rel="noopener">HealthNews
